My guess: The average Christian doesn't get the concept of reverence. When you're turning one of Jesus' titles, the name of the place where God's Temple resides, and the Holiest object in that Temple into forum and team names on an internet forum, you've probably lost the fear. And considering that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge...

How's it controversial? They are, after all, acting with God's authority, as we've been told previously.

You didn't!

I grew up in Elmira. My parents still live there. Big drafty house too, though no servant's quarters.

It is called the Pastoral Team.

And as far as I can discern, it's has a good start with it's initial members.

However, that announcement is one more example of how poor CF upper staff are at communicating a message.

The team is a good thing, especially within the context of the ministry, and the people I see serving on it are good people.

But P_G blew it with his opening line, "CF has added a new ministry Team called Omega." Immediately he opens up with something that is 1) distracting 2) not relevant to the message 3) bound to get the kinds of questions its generating.

Look at Ksen's announcement of the new PAD a little while back. It's not that Daveleau qualified for the position because he's knowledgable about Protestant affairs, capable of representing the myriad denominations, on-board with the CF mission. No, it's because he's been on staff. I'm not saying that is why Davelaeu position or that he's not qualified. I'm saying that Ksen's message was poorly constructed.

And then go back and look at the royal cockup of imaniigod's announcement to Exec. Here you have other members of Exec, her supposed peers, openly talking about the internal discension behind her appointment.

I have no doubts that the members of Exec are well intended folks who want nothing but the best for CF, but I question whether or not any of them have had actual experience in executive level communication and communication with large diverse constituencies. From what I've read and seen, and as importanly - not seen - coming from them, I have my doubts.

Sure does man possess this weather predicting ability ... when he is NOT pampered!

I bet some indigenous people in S-America, on top of the world or in Papua New Guinea still have that "sense" of weather!

But who needs that sense if you can just switch on the TV and have others tell you what will happen?

I see nothing wrong in calling it team Omega. But I used to attend a Friday Night Bible Study called Alpha and Omega, too.
