Just a guess, since my Latin course was 50 years ago: "I believe nothing except the things that I can conclude by scientific reasoning." (I'm too lazy to look up "metiri" in my Latin dictionary. I recognize it as the deponent infinitive that complements "possum", but I can't place its exact meaning.)
