Why would an omnipotent being need to create his own personal servants and helpers? Furthermore, if you're going to claim that he didn't need to, but did anyways, why?

Because God is a creator by nature. Because God is loving God and needed a focus of love. Because God wanted the drama. Because God is a proud God and wanted something to be proud about. I have heard all of those in the past. I can make up some more. God is too awesome to talk to human beings directly, so he needed middle management. God needed a heavenly host to create music and deliver inspiring messages. God said, "Heck, why not?" and did it.

What does this say about the story of Saul and the people wanting a king over them in contrast to the earlier more anarchist traditions? Has anyone used the clear political views in the Bible as a means of dating portions and where the ideas may have originated? |

Human creation, to my way of thinking, indicates a lack of omnipotence on god's part. Sort of unintelligent design. |
