I personally don't care for catholicism, much less whoever the fuck is pope.
Nevertheless, I'd like to see this pope live another ten years. I think that would be cool. |

While not Catholic and having numerous probs with the Catholic church I care who the Pope is and certainly don't want to see this one carry on for another decade, unless the next in line is even more conservative. Popes can do a lot of good things, if they have a mind. They have enormous support and political clout and their decisions affect millions of people.

I want another twenty years. Minimum. Just think of the absolute chaos and turmoil this would cause for the RCC. They would simply not know what to do. Talk would go on for years and years about the health of the pope. Imagine all the questions... Can the pope still run the church? Does he know what day it is? Can god still get through to him, and visa versa? Did I just see his finger move? Was it a sign? Does he always dribble like that? How long will they keep him on life support? "How many deaths will it take till he knows/that too many people have died? " ~Bob Dylan. Sorry, the last one was just a sick joke. |

Exactly - if we can't have fun with the pope, then what the fuck use is the old fart?

I'd worry more about who would replace him. There are folks among the Cardinals that make Pope Innocent III look...well...innocent.

I have to say, I felt quite out-numbered by the amount of people praying for his recovery...
And anyway, surely they have better things to pray for - like the billions of people who haven't lived longer than average life-expectancy or in the lap of luxury. Where are their priorities? |
