Default Do you always take such an offensive tone?

Assuming your post to be serious and not tongue-in-cheek, the statement refers to statements of fact, but is not itself a statement of fact, rather an exhortative, that is, a "should" statement. Moral principles are not true or false in the same way that factual ones are.

Default have mercy

Being that I was in Spuleeah's shoe a number of years ago, let's be kind and merciful and he sees the arguments and the facts do not sustain the faith.

Funny thing is, I don't remember being very very stubborn about letting the doubts creep in, because I always wondered how it all worked out since I first heard the gospel as a child.

I guess satan had me singled out for infidelism later on. :devil1:

Apart from mis quoting me (I said may be proven wrong) I guess that is the penalty one must pay for having in open mind. <edited> Thank goodness humanity has people that are prepared to question and look for something better, because if everyone had your <edited> mindset then we would still be sheep herders.

The inverse of Pascal's wager is that a loving, parental, just God will respect my life's conduct for what it was at face value and will respect my efforts to take responsibility for my own thinking---like any truly good parent would, especially based on the difficulty and craziness of the scenario/environment/puzzle as it has been presented to us.

If it is a judgmental, redneck God I don't stand a chance regardless.

And ukewarm appeasement of an unjust God, and embracing of ideals that I personally find ill-advised or limiting would land me in hot water with a just God.

I thusly wager on there being a just and loving healthy non biblical God, an indifferent Universe Force, or no god! Take that Pascal!

Cool Spuleeah's true knowledge

At the risk of wasting time (actually I want to revive this thread from the second page), I must ask Spuleeah:

Where did you get your true knowledge?

In thousands of years people have been searching for "true knowledge," so how is it that YOU are lucky enough to find it and recognize it as being "true knowledge?" Please let us in on this miraculous find.

PS: Please don't use the word "bible" in your answer.
