And that's my point, seebs. Such a vote on me would be 100% negative. You, at least, have some sympathizers to argue the merits of your case. I have yet to hear of an atheist who ever "had luck" with an appeal.

I believe I know of some cases.

That said... Of the five official warnings I've gotten, a total of four of them were clearly and unambiguously given largely because I go around claiming to be Christian, while not being nearly mean enough to be a "real" Christian. I got two spite-warnings from ID4H, who has been stalking me ever since he found out I don't approve of public prayer, and who hates me for claiming to be a Republican but not being willing to fellate the current president. I got one from jameseb, who is one of the most viciously nasty people on the board, and who has been after me in various ways for ages, in no small part because I called him on it. I got one from brewmama for not gleefully libeling Muslims along with everyone else, so she posted an inappropriate remark, trashed the thread, and gave me a spite warning.

My warning from rnmomof7 almost certainly doesn't reflect any kind of considered bias. She just doesn't know what any of the words mean, so when she's moderating a thread on homosexuality, she tends to trash posts which don't have enough links to click on, because she thinks "objective evidence" means "there's a link you can click on".

On the other hand, she doesn't seem to ever do this to people posting vague generalizations about how bad homosexuality is. Underneath it all, I think she's simply incapable of not showing bias against people who would defend homosexuality in any way, even against obvious lies.

In short... Most of my warnings are because I have a Christian icon, because if I didn't, these people wouldn't have nearly as much reason to hate me. If I didn't care what Jesus said about public prayer, ID4H wouldn't be stalking me to make up for the hilarious embarassment of telling me that if I'd just read the Bible, I'd find that it does not in any way discourage public prayer. If I weren't arguing for Christian morals in the Republican forum, ID4H, jameseb, and brewmama wouldn't have been trying so hard to get me banned for making them look bad.

FWIW, if you ever want to get banned quickly, just advocate Christianity in the Republican forum. It's strongly frowned upon. The people running that forum believe that charity is a sin, that mercy and forgiveness are games for simpleminded fools, that avarice is the foundation of a successful Christian nation, that vengeance is best handed off to people who say they read the Bible a lot... There's a lot of work to be done there, but it's been made clear that it is not permissible to do it, because the staff there are Republicans first, nationalists second, moderators third, and Christians last.

You're a Republican?!? Oh, man, you really have problems. Now I think I understand why they go after you like that. I'd even be tempted to ban you.

Heh.

But seriously, the worst hatred is reserved, not for the people who aren't in the in group at all, but for the people on its fringes.

Wow.

I've recently begun posting in the Democrats forum, and we're really having a good time in there. Great bunch of folks I've run into so far.

Yeah. I am very frustrated, because I think the Democrats are, for the most part, wrong on simple matters of fact... But a lot of modern Republicans seem to be just plain evil. I don't know where we get this stuff, but the level of nationalism I saw there was just plain scary. My party, right or wrong. Bush and Cheney, ueber alles.

I have never seen such rampant paranoia and dramatics. How does someone stalk someone else on a message board? And why for pete's sake do some of ya'll spend huge amounts of time on a message board where you clearly feel like you are being treated badly and unfairly?? And Seebs, your need to feel "important" is really sad, almost as pathetic as your need to post a swan song
at CF. When people decide to leave a message board why in the world do they feel to make it into a sopa opera?

The question in my mind is why you remain in the fringes of such groups, but maybe we'll be able to explore that at another time. I just wish that there were more christians like you. Do you ever wonder why there aren't?

This is what's weird. Seebs is number one or number two on total post count. Up until two months ago, he had never eaten a warning. Suddenly, with no change in his posting style or content, he gets a load of them in two months.

As to seebs "need to feel important'... Tell ya what--come back and tell us what you think after you've made 25,000 posts.

I see, so post count is what makes a person important??? :rolling:
