				 | "Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time" by Marcus Borg

Anyone else read this? I am about halfway through and really enjoying it. It's helping me to change the way I look at Jesus (as opposed to the rigid construct of Him and God the conservative churches handed me, which didn't help me do anything except feel scared.) Would Jesus love a liberal? You bet! http://www.geocities.com/greenpartyv...christians.htm |

I read a few of his works. Didn't reading that one though. I read "Meeting God Again for the First Time," "Reading the Bible Again for the First Time," "Jesus Two Visions" [with N.T. Wright] and "Jesus A New Vision." I like Borg. He is a panentheist so that alone makes him cool in my book I believe he helped introduce a new construct for understanding Jesus. Crossan thought the same. Vinnie |

I am definitely going to read more of his work. I have a huge reading list to go through, but I like his style so much...and he;'s fairly easy for me to understand, so I think I will stick with him for a while. (I hear Tillich is harder, so that's going to have to wait a bit.) |

Haven't read Spong yet. Hope to do so in the future, though.

"We are the Borg. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated". (I'm sorry, but somebody had to say it) | |
