Well, then what happens to Jesus, who taught it?

You need to read the material in context. "Works" are the ritualistic obedience of the Mosaic law, not acts of charity.

I think Jesus ought to be the first on a list of Christian role models. Jew or not.

Saved from what? Saved from thinking too much? I was once told that I should just stop thinking and be saved. hmmm to think or be saved from thinking for myself? Because you know Thinking is dangerous.

I think I will just think for myself thank you.

Oh yeah I know what you must mean by saved. How much money have you saved on your car insurance by switching to Geico, BJ

I've heard that one did not have to be like Jesus from a Baptist preacher I worked with. It always struck me as odd. He was stowing away guns for the Armageddom and would get red faced pissed if we brought up the whole "love thy neighbor" stuff.

That verse would not apply to members of Phi Kappa Sigma. They ain't even done throwing up at nine o'clock in the morning.

Based upon your response, I have a few more questions.

Is the Internet Infidels Discussion Board the same as Christendom?

How do you intend to "expose false doctrine"?

I think one can learn much about the aspirations and intentions of others by discovering their role models. You've chosen two highly visible men. They receive a lot of attention. Is attention what you want?

Default from the gospel of American Jesus...

Followers of the Republicans and the Saducees caught an adulteress coming out of a Planned Parenthood clinic.

Jesus asked them, what business do you have with her? They answered, our law of Falwell says we must Bible-thump such a woman to death.

Jesus thought about it to himself, then answered, "Any of you who is without sin may throw the first Bible at her."

The Republicans and the Saducees walked away, and Jesus said to the woman, "Go and sin no more."

Tomorrow, I tell the parable of the good homosexual!

But she went and sinned more so Jesus cast her into hell.
