Countdown Starts for UA-led Asteroid Mission

The countdown clock officially started on Dec. 9, with 999 days remaining until the projected launch of the first NASA mission to bring back a sample from a pristine, primitive asteroid. The event also marked the launch of an engaging social media and public outreach campaign to share the excitement of the mission's progress across the world.

Parade, Campus Showcase, Breakfast Tailgate Part of UA Homecoming 2012

The UA will celebrate its 92nd annual Homecoming Nov. 8-10. A number of events are planned, including the traditional bonfire and pep rally, Tents on the Mall, the Campus and Collegiate Showcase, the Homecoming parade and a breakfast tailgate party.

Hundreds Welcome New UA President Ann Weaver Hart

On July 9, UA President Ann Weaver Hart arrived on campus to an official welcome. Hundreds of people from across the University and throughout the state gathered in front of the Administration Building as a show of support for Hart, who began her formal duties as University president on July 1.

Wildcats to Play for NCAA Baseball Title

Arizona thumped Florida State, 10-3, on June 21 to win its side of the bracket and earn a spot in the NCAA championship series at TD Ameritrade Park. The Wildcats will play next on June 24 against either Arkansas or South Carolina.

President Obama to Speak at UA

Thousands are expected on the UA campus today to hear President Barack Obama speak during an event honoring Saturday's shooting victims. "Together We Thrive: Tucson and America" will begin at 6 p.m. at McKale Memorial Center.

UA President to Deliver Annual State of the University Talk

Robert N. Shelton's address on Thursday, Nov. 4, is expected to touch on topics including the budget, the election and progress toward achieving the University's missions. The talk will be open to the public.

Taste of the Union, Sample of Wildcat Life

The Arizona Student Unions and Residence Hall Association are collaborating to throw a block party on the UA Mall that's expected to draw upwards of 7,000 people Saturday, Aug. 21.
