"In fact, the meticulous Roman records of execution don't mention Jesus at all."
Prove it. How many Roman records, for example, do we have reporting who Pilate executed? |

I'll probably have to restate this several times (especially since thumpers automatically evade the issues by never acquiescing to a request), but until the hypothesis has been thoroughly supported to the very best of everyone's ability, please do not post negative analysis or present negative evidence yet.
If you can not respect that request, then please do not post anything at all. Thank you. |

LOL.
Me: I'm learning more and more that for all of their self-hype, skeptics are just cowards." You: Childish, erroneous and just fuckin' stupid. Please do not post anything further in this room." Me again: You are right. You are no coward. It's not like you don't want to hear other opinions or evidence, because that would be cowardly. |

Does that make you believe in the story? If you pick one fact that has corroborating support, you can't automatically let every other statement in the book inherit that credibility. Each must have its own merit, and if you do claim that this is evidence of its validity, then you should also be prepared to discard the entire book when a single contradiction or obviously wrong statement occurs. Having read the gospels, I don't think you are ready to do that. |

I will ask you politely once again not to throw this room off-topic.
If you are not capable of respecting my request, then I'll have you removed. I would rather that not be the case. Now, are you going to be an adult or a child? Just asking so that neither of us have to waste any more time. |

You have made me curious though. Do you really have the authority to force me out of your thread? Is there a list of rules online that I should check out? |

If you do have the authority to have Layman removed, you'll have to have me removed also. I am an atheist, but have great respect for Layman and his scholarly abilities. I think it would be wrong to censor him and think it would be a cowardly thing to do. If you don't like what he's posting, ignore him. You have offered no evidence for any of your theories and the only thing even keeping this thread alive are your critics. This isn't the Secular Support forum and Layman is doing nothing out of line. You can't just start a thread and set up rules for the type of responses that are allowed. BTW: Your theory has no merit whatsoever in the terms which you have framed it. You seem to realize this since you offer no support for it, merely asking others to do your work for you. |
