Actually Toto, I'm responding to an ad hominum made by my fellow debator on the issue. Rather than calling it that I am responding to the actual argument. It is not my intent to argue for the existence of God, merely to defend that, contrary to SecWeb opinion, it is a rational possibility, and that WELL-INFORMED atheists have become theists. The defense is necessary to conclude that Christianity can rationally defend itself, therefore the discussion of whether or not Christianity is polytheistic or not IS actually meaningful. Thanks for your thoughts though, I'll try to get back on track, but as of yet my latest argument has not been responded to (prescriptive definition of polytheism)....

Shaun - it would help if you would edit your writing for clarity and sentence structure. Muddled syntax is a sign of muddled thinking.

Whether Christianity can "rationally" defend itself has nothing to do with whether it is polytheistic or not.

The possible existence of god(s) does not imply the truth of Christianity.

Well-informed, putatively rational people have believed all sorts of demonstrably false and ridiculous things.

I posted something out of frustration. I've decided to retract it. Anyway, thanks for pointing out my error. I would appreciate it if you would let me know what errors I made and how to fix them. I have never claimed superior literary skills, and have a ways to go before I'll be publishing anything professionally. Ask me to clarify if my point wasn't clear. I think my statements regarding the relativity of my arguments still stand on their own. The rationality of Christianity was attacked and I defended it. Let's try to move on alright? Just a thought from my linguistics course. Proper syntax is, at its root, purely relative, so what use in discussing it? As I said I WOULD like to keep on track. Did you have anything to say about polytheism....????? -Shaun
