Just because you are an atheist does not qualify you as not being a fundie. Fundamentalists read Scripture ideally. Just because you do not believe the fantastic stories does not excuse you from being a fundie.

Myself, I believe every thing written is the "gospel truth". I know that John was written first and edited last. I know there is no mention of the Jewish War of A.D. 70 in the gospels. I know Jesus existed. I do not read Scripture ideally.

Look I don't want to be rude, but you are coming off as a complete dingus. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, perhaps to my own detriment, and presume you actually have something worthwhile to say, but so far you have done an exceedingly poor job of doing so. I have told twice already what I regard as references to the destruction of the temple and you have not rebutted the argument you just say you "know". Secondly I have no idea what your nonsensical comments about reading Xian texts "ideally" are supposed to mean, but I'm pretty sure I'm not idealizing the texts. I view them and read them as human literature which, by virtue of human authroship, cannot be ideal.

If you want to present an argument why GJn was first go right ahead. If you want to present an argument that the gospels were written prior to the Jewish revolt go ahead. If you want to keep stating that you just know these things or regurgitating something from a book by some fringe author your time would be better spent "punching the clown". I'll have nothing more to say to you until you start providing falsifiable arguments.

My apologies, but I have decided that Internet Infidels is not for me. I have to repeat my sources over and again and I just do not have time.

Don't get me wrong, this is not "sour grapes"
because I have learned a great deal and I have bought and read books by Eisenman, Finklestein, and Dougherty (and others) and I discovered them on this web site.

Also, I have enjoyed the humor, I mean, it has been a lot of fun. My favorite was someone asking me if I was a lesbian. I used search engines and found the island of Lesbos.

I was confused. I am Rex Offa and how could I be asked if I was a lesbian. Hasn't anybody ever read Beowulf and read about king Offa? Hasn't anybody ever heard of Offa's dike?
