Peter, thanks for going through the essay. I am pleased someone has the time that I don't. Dennis and Ron would dismiss anything I say as I'm a Christian any way but they may accept it from you.
Any chance of your emailing your comments to the page's author? You can add my three points too for free . Yours Bede Bede's Library - faith and reason |

Whether Kirby is correct, I do not know and I'm afraid I don't have time to look into it carefully. I was just wondering where your Christian charity was. |

Hello frosty
I agree with Bede that Peter's site is among the best in presenting a non-Christian perspective on the New Testament, and recommend it very highly. As for a more traditional (and conservative) view of the dating and authorship of the NT Canons, I would recommend Dr. Daniel Wallace's Prof's Soapbox. Just scroll about 1/4 of the way down the page to see an in depth discussion of each of the books of the NT from Mark to Jude (Revelation is not discussed, nor are the non-Canonicals). Even if you do not agree with all of Dr. Wallace's conclusions, he does address the arguments and evidence both for and against his view, and I know from personal experience that he is very good about replying to specific questions sent to him by email. I hope that this helps, and welcome to the Boards. Peace, Nomad |

His last article on roman slavery, however, is awful. Roman slavery was even more brutal than southern slavery, except for the minority of slaves who served as house slaves.
