Sorry I've been gone or I could've saved everyone a lot of time. Here's the guy you're looking for:

So I guess the answer is that Kim is a Professor of New Testament studies at a highly respected seminary.

The fact that he teaches at one of the most respected seminaries in the United States only proves that he is a biased Christian who can not be trusted to speak on anything relevant to Christianity

Polycarp

You are right of course. But he is an Asian, so perhaps Mike won't accuse him of Mediteraniancentrism.

Well thats just silly. Everyone knows that all Christians are completely honest, objective and their research is always beyond question - even if there can only be found a couple of people that actually agree with them.

MM, I don't think Polycarp's point was all that subtle. He was not arguing that Kim should be believed because he is a Christian. Rather, he was mocking the idea that Kim should be summarily discounted because he is a Christian.

OK, I've been doing some more checking and I may have the wrong guy. I know that "Seyoon Kim" at Fuller has published numerous articles on New Testament issues. However, I can't absolutely verify that he is the person who wrote the "P46" article.

If somebody is really dying to know, the link I listed does show his e-mail address.

Also - here's a link to Biblica's website http://www.bsw.org/project/biblica/

They only go back to volume 71 so there's no record of volume 69.

Between contacting either Seyoon Kim or someone at Biblica, a person with a strong desire could find out if I've got the right guy. I have no such desire...

Peace,

Polycarp

I got bored around now, Google gave 917,000 hits!

Seriously though I am amazed that I could not find his name (assuming it is a he) anywhere on any faculty or student listings, using a variety of combinations including the addition of Dr, Professor, Phd, Theology or NT Studies etc I came up with zilch. This surprises me for someone who is supposed to be a published doctor (of something at least).

How could you possibly confuse Seyoon Kim with Young Kyu Kim? It's like confusing Joseph Smith with Adam Smith.

<chuckle> I got it. I was just having fun in reverse so to speak.

But seriously, I agree. The point is that there are at least two possible extremes in this instance.
