Omnidon1:
You quoted Genisis 2:5/6; wasn't this before Adam was created? How is this passage supposed to say that it never rained from this point until the flood? Would you not see rainbows in a mist (I know I do when I wash my car!!)? Magethlaro: Funny you should mention Umbrella. It is a Chinese invention that has been around for over 2000 years. According to some versions of Christianity, I suppose it was created with the world! [ December 05, 2001: Message edited by: emc2 ]
|

I think creationists might say that there could have been some light rain, but it wouldn't have been enough to make rainbows. Quote:

Lemme see, "mist from the earth" rises and then, supposedly, falls on the earth to water it. That's not rain?
Plus, what's the good of taking water from the earth and then putting it back on again? Rain is nothing more than "mist from the waters" (and some from the ground) that condenses and falls to earth. |

Wait a minute...
If God invented rainbows as a promise that he would never destroy the world again with a flood, and the way he introduced those rainbows was by introducing rain, then that means that every time rain causes a flood and destroys crap, that is God's way of saying that he'll never destoy the world again with a flood. Way to go, God. |

The mist that is described is (I would guess) more like the morning dew or fog. Not like the mist you get from a water misting sprinkler. Also, I don't think that rainbows "count", unless they're in the heavens. Magethlaro: Funny you should mention Umbrella. It is a Chinese invention that has been around for over 2000 years. Job 37:18 can you join him in spreading out the skies, hard as a mirror of cast bronze? Isaiah 40:22 He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. Ezekiel 1:22 And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above. Rev 6:15 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together As for the firmament being the atmosphere... I had this one thrown at me before. In Genesis it says that the firmament divided water above the firmament from water below the firmament. It does not say that the firmament contained any water. What then is the water above the atmosphere??? [ December 10, 2001: Message edited by: NOGO ] [ December 10, 2001: Message edited by: NOGO ]
|
