They are inerrant only as far as they are an accurate copy and translation of the autographs. It is the original manuscripts alone that inerrancy applies to.</STRONG>
Which raises the important question of why these documents have not survived. Why haven't they been made waterproof and fireproof and bugproof and otherwise indestructible by the Almighty? If I wanted to issue a message to all of humanity, for all of time, I would insure that that message would always be accessible to all of humanity. And NOT reveal it to a tiny subset of humanity and then let the original copies be destroyed and the copies' copies get corrupted, mistranslated, misinterpreted, misrepresented, etc.

Another good one is the monotheism/polytheism contradiction: there is only one god, but there are also many gods. This opens up the whole issue of Jewish polytheism, and the mysterious miracles of the Egyptian priests (turning their staves into snakes and reproducing several of the Plagues). If YHWH is one god among many, why worship YHWH? Maybe one of the others is better, the Bible is somewhat biased...</STRONG>
Which reminds me of the story of Elijah and the priests of Baal, who had had a competition to determine who had the more powerful god by erecting altars and challenging their respective deities to light them.

Baal never delivered, and Elijah mocked his priests about Baal's absence.

However, the Biblical God delivered, in the form of fire rained down on Baal's priests.

And Xtian apologists get itchy when asked why their god doesn't deliver...

Yeap, he could like hold a weekly status
meeting:

"Hi, Yhwh here, just wanted to let you know
how things are going. Business is up, and
Satan has been defeated on a number of fronts. I wanted to thank St. Peter for
organizing last weeks "Know your Saints"
potluck, and Mary, you really must give me
that recipe for Mana! And for those of you
being doubting Thomas' (I know who you are),
here's a miracle as proof..."

It would really be quite simple, and he'd
have nothing to lose....

You’re forgetting God has a habit of destroying the documents he helps write, such as the 10 commandments.
