Yes it is. It will air Easter Sunday, April 15 and Easter Monday April 16.

I wonder how lpetrich came to this ridiculous conclusion.

1) Did the question of fundamentalist preachers even come up on this thread? (Remember how I have asked you to try and stay on topic before lpetrich?)

2) How do you know what I think about TV evangelists if you don't ask me?

3) Are you admitting (by means of your analogy) here that ABC presented a biased program? If not, what was the point of your post?

My reason for that TV-evangelist comment is that if one wants a totally uncritical view of Jesus Christ, such a view should be easy to find in a TV-evangelist show.

Or, in other words, rather than admit that the ABC special was in fact biased, you attempted to change the topic to an irrelevant subject.

When it doubt, bash the fundies.

But this just brings me back to my other question lpetrich. Why have you placed this false dichotomy, and assumed that I am not interested in watching a program that takes a critical view of Jesus? The show was biased, and that was my point. One can take a critical view of the historical Jesus and still be balanced in one's discussion. ABC did not do this, and worst of all, they pretended that this was exactly what they were doing.

A televised evangelism program makes no bones about being objective, so at least it is being honest in its presentation. Personally, when I am reading or viewing something with an agenda behind it, I prefer to know what that agenda is. With everything out in the open, we can then evaluate its content and claims accordingly.

Just out of curiosity, did the show state things that were incorrect, or did it leave important information out? (I didn't see it)

I didn't see it all, and can't remember every point I disputed, but one thing stands out in my mind. They quoted Crossan as just denying that anyone who is crucified is allowed to be buried. But, as you can see in the October 25, 1999 issue of U.S. News & World Report, a recent archeological discovery found the remains of a first century crucifixion victim properly buried in an ossuary. I remember shouting this particular fact at the television. Nevertheless, my cries went unheaded as no mention of this directly contradictory evidence was made.

This makes me wonder what Nomad and Bede and Layman would have preferred -- that Crossan and others assert that their methodology is like that of "creation science" "research institutes" whose members must assert that they believe in the literal truth of the Bible?

Yeah, a couple times.

Yeah, it was refreshing to see, after two thousand years of professional liars hogging the spotlight.

I see rather than respond to the issue, you have once again fallen back on the, if all else fails, bash the fundies. The reference is not to the creation science research institute, it is to the Christian Research Institute.

Moreover, I am not asking that ABC put Josh McDowell or Lee Strobel on, they are not New Testament scholars. But how could they ignore E.P. Sanders and John P. Meier? Or Graham Stanton and Ben Witherington? Why four scholars from the same institute, the Jesus Seminar, and ignore leaders in the field like Sanders and Meier?

None of the above beleive in inerrancy or are fundamentalists.
