The Romance languages I mentioned because they have a well-documented ancestor, which makes them a good introduction to linguistic evolution; the other examples, Indo-European, Semitic, and Nostratic, have no documented ancestors.
As to Semitic pronouns, I once tracked down Hebrew, Arabic, and Akkadian ones, and they turned out to look very similar -- and unlike Indo-European ones, which likewise looked fairly similar. I didn't think that there would be creationists dull enough to dispute linguistic evolution out there. It's like evolution but with "kinds" pre-defined for them.
