I tend to get easily annoyed at undue stupidity (which probably isn't a good thing from what I've seen of these boards so far), people ought to use their brains... If I feel someone is being excessively stupid I'll probably stop responding to them without notice. I'm currently studying Maths and Computer Science at University... though I have a feeling that I should be doing something more distinctly Christian but I'm not quite sure what yet... I'm not excessively knowledgable or well read about any specific Biblical issues, I tend to have a more general knowledge. I hold a few beliefs which are different to those that I've seen many Christians claim to be required. eg I believe that Age days for creation are Biblically consisent. (And I am reasonably convinced of an 'old earth') I believe that the Bible is not required to be inerrant (but I think it is very close to it or is... for all intents and purposes I see it as recording truth). I believe that (slightly modified) theistic evolution is not inconsistant with the Bible. (Although I don't actually believe in evolution - I just hold that it isn't inconsisant ) Apart from that I believe all the 'normal' things: God, Devil, Creation, Fall, Incarnation, Ressurection, Second Coming etc. (So I'm not entirely heretical ) Quote:

My word, this is complete madness! Consider this: we have before us a book which is supposed to be the Word of God (whose existence has not been proved) and therefore an eternal guide for mankind for living correctly. Yet this book calls the Mediterranean Sea the "Great Sea" (I dare say the Atlantic is greater) and fails to account for the ancestry of the Chinese people! The sons of Noah are the fathers of the Semites (Shem), the Hamites (Ham) and the Indo-Europeans (Japheth) respectively. No mention from whom the Chinese were descended.
Obviously the God of the Bible did not create the Chinese. Some other God must have created them. The other conclusion is where I dare not go, it is the ways of hell, whereof man is never released, is lost forever in a Christless (or Mosesless or Muhammadless) grave to burn in eternal fire, separated from his Creator: that the Bible is not the Word of God. Perish the thought! HaShem Yerahem! A'oodhubillah! |

Genesis 37:09 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. Genesis 37:10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? What we are being told is that the sun, moon, and stars are people. The sun is the patriarch and the stars are princes. You know, the Star of Bethlehem was a person. He is referred to as Joseph. thanks, offa |
