I am looking for a critical analysis of Dr. Gregory Boyd's "Letters from a Skeptic." I have already uncovered a number of flaws in Dr. Boyd's arguments for Christianity, but am searching for other criticisms. Are there any on the internet?

I know of no criticisms of that book, but I myself have read it. Interestingly enough, one apologist friend of mine reviewed it, and he seemed to think that Boyd's father wasn't a real atheist, or the whole thing was scripted b/c it seemed too unbelievable. I don't know about all that, but the review is an interesting read.

I'm not going to get into all of the details on this, but those here at the SecWeb who know me will hopefully vouch for my credibility. I don't want to give out too many details about how I know this because I could lose some of my anonymity.

Let me assure you that Boyd's father was a "real atheist". Unless, of course, you consider anyone who changes their mind on the issue to be a "fake atheist". Let me also assure you that the letters weren't scripted. What some people may consider to be "scripted" is probably due to the fact that some letters were edited for clarity's sake. This is plainly stated on pages 10-11 of the book. It is because of this that the book may seem "scripted" .

I'd be happy to vouch, if you can claim personal knowledge. Without going into details, do you have some personal knowledge of the development of the book?

Yes, I do have personal knowledge of the development of the book along with other knowledge which pre-dates the development of the book. The book was developed in 1992-1993 and published in 1994. In 1990 I was aware that Edward Boyd (Greg Boyd's father) was an atheist.

There is no doubt in my mind that Edward Boyd converted from atheism to Christianity. As to whether or not some of the letters were edited I also have no doubt, but it was not done in a deceptive manner.
