Post That's weird?

I just realized according to the Bible we are all descendants of a murderer Cain and Abel.

Well, through Noah and his daughters, anyway.

Actually komazour it seems that we are descendents of Seth, because if I remember correctly Abel had no descendents and Cain's were all killed in the flood. (Although it is course possible that some of Cain's descendents married into Seth's line)

An interesting observation ! My research suggests that the Hebrews were reformatting the ancient Mesopotamian myths about the flood and the creation of man and man's relationship to God.

I have posited that in the original Mesopotamian story, Atrahasis 9a.k.a., Noah) is placed in paradise after the flood with his wife, he does not die. His name means "he who acquired wisdom". Gilgamesh seeks him out because he only has acquired immortality and Gilgamesh thinks he will learn what the secret is. I understand Adam and Eve to be a recast of Atrahasis and wife, the paradise being made in the biblical story before the flood. Adam I understand to be an amalgum of several characters from different myths. He is the naked Enkidu who roamed the "Edinu" with his animal companions until a courtesan brought to ensare him robs him of his innocence, corrupting him and they together leave the earthy paradise garbed to live in a civilized world at Uruk. He is also Atrahasis, Adapa and Enki. Viewers can access all this in articles posted on my website under the OT Menu. Access is via http://bibleorigins.homestead.com/index.html
Nestscape freezes, solution hit STOP on browser bar which then accesses the page or article.

In The Book of Jubilees Lamech and Methselah both survived the Flood.

Of course the Animals were actually human but I am sure they were descendants of Eve.

The ark was not really a boat and the world GOD created was not this planet but a little world of his own.

thanks,
offa

Congratulations, offa -- I was starting to think Les Benton had even more bizarre thought processes than you. You're back on top now.
