That was very heart-felt, sighhswolf! Thanks.

I appreciate the fact that you want to look at the evidence for yourself. I started out that way as well, brought up in a Christian home. I also sang in churches. In college, I asked myself why I believed it all... So, I began to search as well. It's many years later, and I have studied a lot. But there's so much left.

I'm beginning to see that I'll never have all the knowledge I need, and that I'll never really know anything for sure. Perhaps this is why so many Christians never even bother. I felt I had to make some kind of life-decision because agnosticism seems like a cop-out to me. So, I believe by faith (as well all do in our own respective world-views), but I also see a heavy trail of evidence and possibilities to bolster my faith. I believe the stuff in the Bible really happened, but I can't prove it conclusively to you or anyone...

Anyway, good luck in your search 'cause it'll be a long one if you're really seeking. My prayers are with you and those like you. I've been there...

Sincerely,
Ish

I'm not trying to put people in boxes, but why are you uncomfortable with the term agnostic? It simply means "without knowledge." It seems as though you genuinely don't know the answers.

Le pede,
Every time I think I have the answers,
somebody changes the question.......

Point of Information:

Originally posted by sighhswolf: I did not know until just recently that the pic of the US Marines raising the flag on Iwo
was staged, and did not actually happen.
The picture that has been seen by millions,
for years and years was staged by a reporter
and was not the actual flag raising.
I saw a documentary in which the announcer stated that the famous Iwo Jima photo was staged but was a recreation of the actual flag-raising using the actual Marines who did the original flag-raising.

If you would have wanted a picture of the Marines raising the flag on Iwo as they had actually done so, then you would have had to have staged such using the original individuals.

I have no problem with the staging of this photo so long as it re-eneacted/re-created the original fact using the original individuals.

Now, I am reporting what I saw/heard on a documentary.

If anyone else has any other information confirming or denying what I have reported, then, obviously, we need to hear what they have to say.
