The first draft of the "Peter" portion of the Acts of Linus arrived today. It's a very professional piece of work. But I need to go through it and offer feedback, and suggestions, as is usual with this translator.

I have read the translation and passed back my comments to the translator.

Both parts of the Acts of ps.Linus are now complete, and I've paid for them and I'm placing them in the public domain. I'll be making these available as soon as.

I know there were offers to contribute, but I'm happy to bear the cost.

All the best,

Roger Pearse

A PDF of the translation is available here:

I shall make HTML versions available in due course, but I'm too knacked tonight.

Despite our differences in philosophy (I steer clear of religion) and the ideas we are prepared to entertain and critically discuss in the realm of ancient history (I steer clear of New Testament Studies) I have to admire your capacity for getting the translations of these ancient texts out into the oceanic expanses of all researchers and students.

What I don't understand is why hasn't anyone bothered about the Acts of Linus before now? Are we dealing with an industry that is lackadaisical or just plain unprofessional? Surely this non canonical act is just another example of pulp fiction, but why was it not already out there being discussed with all the other gnostic acts and gospels? Why did it fall through the cracks?

Anyway happy Saturnalia to U2
