After being on this forum for over 7 years it would appear to me that it is just a site where people are riduculed once they challenge any long held presumptions of so-called scholars.

I will change that. It must stop.

Once logical deductions are applied to the Pauline Corpus it cannot be credible.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deductive_reasoning

Quote:
An example of a deductive argument:
1.All men are mortal.
2.Aristotle is a man.
3.Therefore, Aristotle is mortal.

The first premise states that all objects classified as "men" have the attribute "mortal". The second premise states that "Aristotle" is classified as a "man" – a member of the set "men". The conclusion then states that "Aristotle" must be "mortal" because he inherits this attribute from his classification as a "man".
1. If Jesus did exist he was human.

2. Human beings do not resurrect after being dead for three days.

3. In the Pauline Corpus it is claimed Jesus resurrected on the third day after he was dead and Paul was the Last to see him.

4. Therefore, The Pauline Corpus is NOT credible.

1 Corinthians 15:15 KJV
Quote:
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up , if so be that the dead rise not.
The dead rise NOT--Paul could not have been a witness of a resurrected dead.

The Pauline Corpus is a compilation of Lies.

Despite some disagreements I have with with aa5874, I admire his persistence.....

Notice how deduction works here: #1 gives a generalization about an entity; #2 defines a specific entity; and #3 applies the generalization to the specific entity. The following looks almost nothing like the example deduction.

aa5874 is trying to induce a deduction. Result: failure. This is before trying to fathom the premises and the errors they might contain.

And aa5874 blunders on, not knowing how to proceed to demonstrate the conclusion he seems so driven to arrive at.

It would also me good to know what he means by "lies" because, under the common understanding of the term, his last statement ("The Pauline Corpus is a compilation of Lies") is beyond his capabilities of demonstration.

What utter absurdities you post. You have no idea what logical deductions are.

1. If Jesus did exist he could only have been human--True

2. Human beings do NOT resurrect after being dead for three days--True

3. In the Pauline Corpus it is claimed Jesus Christ was raised from the dead on the THIRD day and that Paul was the Last to be seen of him.

4. The Pauline Corpus is NOT credible.

The very Pauline writer admitted that he could be considered a Liar, a False Witness, if the dead rise not.

1 Corinthians 15:15 KJV
Quote:
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up , if so be that the dead rise not.
The Pauline writer acknowledges that it is completely logical to deduce that he was a LIAR if the dead rise not.

This is so basic that I cannot understand how you cannot grasp it.

The Pauline writers testified that God raised Jesus and admit they would be liars if it never happened.

There is no resurrection--The Pauline Corpus is NOT Credible. They are a pack of lies.

You must try to understand basic logical deductions.

If you don't even know what a lie is, as you have persistently demonstrated, and you call Paul a liar, then you are not credible.

Tacitus and Suetonius cite as evidence for events the portents that people reported. If we took you at your word, you would take those reports and and "deduce" that neither Tacitus nor Suetonius were credible. Such "deductions" as you purvey are simplistic and don't reflect the world in any way.

The Pauline writer acknowledges that it is completely logical to deduce that he was a LIAR if the dead rise not.
Yet Paul indicates that he believes that he is not lying. You refuse to acknowledge that. It seems you don't even know what a lie is. How the fuck can you think you can make sense of what you are criticizing?

You get christians coming here at times saying the most outlandish things that they believe. Often stuff that is outright false. Are they lying? Of course not. They are not intentionally misrepresenting reality. You are utterly wrong when you gormlessly call Paul a liar. You simply cannot know what you are talking ab out and your notion of deduction is plain rubbish.

You merely suffer from repetitive stress rehearsing the same nonsense over and over again. If you don't know what lies are and you don't know what deductions are you need to go and find out and stop making a fool of yourself.

I know the story that if you repeat things often enough someone will believe you... or at least you might start believing it.

It is total absurdity that the existence of Jesus dismisses religion.

You have no idea what logical deductions are and how they are applied.

You have no idea what a premise is.

I am not trying to dismiss any religion. People of Faith do not seem to care if what they believe are found to be lies or known false statements.

Logical deductions have nothing whatsoever to do with dismissing religions but to come to a conclusion based on at least TWO premises.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premise

Quote:
.... A premise is a statement that an argument claims will induce or justify a conclusion.[1] In other words: a premise is an assumption that something is true. In logic, an argument requires a set of (at least) two declarative sentences (or "propositions") known as the premises along with another declarative sentence (or "proposition") known as the conclusion.

This structure of two premises and one conclusion forms the basic argumentative structure. More complex arguments can use a series of rules to connect several premises to one conclusion, or to derive a number of conclusions from the original premises which then act as premises for additional conclusions.
Premise 1--If Jesus did exist he could have only been human is TRUE.

Premise 2--Human beings do NOT resurrect after being dead for three days is TRUE.

Conclusion 3. The claims that Jesus resurrected and on the THIRD day in the Pauline Corpus are NOT credible.

The Pauline Corpus is littered with the False Claims that Jesus Christ resurrected.

The Pauline Corpus is a Pack of LIES.

The Pauline Corpus is a Pack of KNOWN False statements by the authors.

It is imperative that people here understand logical deductions and conclusion based on premises.

From deductive reasoning it can very easily be shown that the Pauline Corpus is not Credible.

But deductive reasoning can also be applied to the Entire Corpus and Texts of antiquity in or out the Canon.

In any event, when deductive reasoning is applied to the Pauline Corpus they are NOT Credible and separately a Pack of lies, that is, the claim by Paul that he was LAST to be seen by the Resurrected Jesus is a KNOWN False statement.

In 1 Corinthians 15 the Pauline writer claimed he was Last to be seen of the Resurrected Jesus but in 2Corinthians all of a sudden he gets amnesia and cannot remember how he met the man called Jesus but somehow knows he was in the THIRD heaven.

1 Corinthians 15 KJV
Quote:
3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received , how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried , and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once...........8And last of all he was seen of me also...
Now, in his supposed second letter the Pauline write cannot recall.

2 Corinthians 12:2 KJV
Quote:

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell ; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell God knoweth ) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell God knoweth
The Pauline writings are NOT Credible--a Pack of lies.

At one time the Pauline writer claimed he was the Last to see the resurrected Jesus and at another time he cannot recall how it happened in the THIRD heaven and "whether it was in or out the body".

Once the premises are understood that:

1. If Jesus existed he must have been human.

2. Human beings do resurrect after they have been dead and buried for three days.

We can conclude by deductive reasoning that the Pauline Corpus is not credible and a Pack of Lies as soon as the writer claimed he was SEEN by a resurrected Jesus.
