So I've had this debate about the beginning(s) of the Universe, and I also find that the issue inevitably becomes one of opinions. The fact is that no one knows how the Universe did begin, right?

I've fallen back to arguing that, historically, attributing what is unknown about Nature to some supernatural force has been inevitably demonstrated to be incorrect. Thus, it is premature to say that because we do not understand how the Universe began that it must have been the work of God(s). Are there more effective arguments that can separate religion from Science?

The fact is that no one knows how the Universe did begin, right?
