Default New Creation?

Hi!

The bible says that when you find Christ, you become a new creature/creation(?). Well, I was wondering how much your behavior/personality has changed since you found Christ.- Or have you changed? Thanks.

I was also wondering, if I may ask, what was going on in your lives that led you to accept Christ? Thanks.

You know, I really thought that Christians would actually like to share what their beliefs have done for them. This lack of response leads me to believe that belief in Christ changes nothing. Maybe it is just the way all the atheists have been talking. Maybe no one changes. Oh well, so much for hoping....

When I saw this thread, I was reminded of the Communist belief in the New Man, which Communism would supposedly turn people into -- unselfishly helpful instead of selfish and greedy. However, Communism never succeeded in that, and Commies turned out to be as selfish and as greedy as anybody else.

I'm disappointed, I was hoping to hear some stories about how finding Jesus cured them of bed-wetting and necrophilia and stuff like that.

Well when I was a Christian I felt that suicide wasn't an option (since it would lead to hell) - so that's kind of a positive thing... and I tried hard to give up masturbation, but I failed. I can't remember if I prayed to God to give me strength to give up though...
I was faithful in promoting young-earth creationism and the idea that God created everything, including humans, personally. I spoke up in class about it quite a lot and tried to get their books in the library. It was a Christian (Lutheran) school but the librarian wasn't interested. I liked Jack Chick's comic books (the long full colour ones) and I encouraged a teacher to buy some for his class - I think he got Bible story comics but not Jack Chick ones - because Chick was very anti-Catholic. I bought a large collection of kids Christian comics (Spire Christian comics) and was going to donate them to the library, but didn't get around to it. The main difference in my behaviour was religious-oriented. I also often wanted to have a future career that involved Christianity in some way. (e.g. running a Christian magazine or a Christian band) I was more conservative and responsible.

Though my new life may seem worse in many ways, what makes a belief true is not whether it makes you happy (e.g. by involving the possibility of paradise and the avoidance of eternal torment) but whether it is true.

Here's a story I just read in my local newspaper about a new Christian, a young, beautiful actress who decided that she no longer wanted to live "in sin" with her boyfriend. She ended the relationship, or the "living together" part of the relationship, at least, and God rewarded her by allowing the boyfriend to shoot her in the face, a severely critical injury. But if she survives, I'm sure it will be the power of prayer that did it, and we will all be blessed with a movie of the week based on the incident....

I wonder...does gawd change the physical structure of the brain when people become believers? Does the holey sprite alter the chemical balances in the brain to cause you to think and act differently? How exactly does this work?
