Elvithriel, footbinding was banned in China before the Communist revolution and there would be very few women there now with bound feet.

As for circumcision, non-essential surgery on a non-consenting minor seems impossible to justify from the ethical point of view, given the rarity of penile cancer.

Default scarily enough

I've seen the foot xrays of women who had their feet bound starting in adolescence, but not enough to break the bones. The deformation looks startlingly like the foot damage seen in irish stepdancers and scottish highland dancers. Those itty-bitty ghillies we wore essentially did the same job for those of us who started dancing at early ages.
