But the man has to sit through all of the nagging, complaining, and hand-squeezing during the birth.

Okay, if you think hand-squeezing, nagging, and complaining is in any way comparable to the intense knife-like pain that just cramps can be, then perhaps you need to rethink some of this. I've only ever miscarried but that was probably the most intense and horrid pain I've ever experienced. It really was like being stabbed repeatedly in the abdomen with something dull and yet perfectly capable of cutting deeply.

*sigh* Having written that, I hope you were kidding.

Thumbs down

You haven't answered my question about rape.

How does forcing a rape victim to carry her rapist's child to term fit into your little world of personal responsibility?

Yeah, don't worry I was. I was just trying to poke fun at the stereotypical woman, which I now regret doing...

Is it your position then that abortion is not murder BECAUSE it is legal? If so, a woman who drowns her infant child the day before infanticide is legalized is a monster, but the day after, she has merely committed a justifiable homicide.

You OK with that?

I don't like considering any kind of killing justifiable, especially the killing of a defenseless unborn child.

Obviously. Like I said, I have no problem with people calling abortion "killing" - of course it's killing. It's killing when it occurs the moment after conception. But it's not murder. At least not in this country.

Don't be silly. We're talking about abortion here. The state's interest in the fetus grows as the gestation period advances beyond viability. I'm not okay with anyone killing children. In fact I don't think anyone is "okay" with killing fetuses for that matter; however, it happens to be a fact of life.

This is just my personal opinion.
I may be wrong about you.
But judging from what you wrote so far, you sound like the regular anti-abortion guy trying to disguise himself as a pro-adoption guy.

You can try to prove me wrong.
Answer the questions that me and others (Like Monkeybot) have asked you. Show us you put some thoughts into what should be done to help women who decide not to have abortions. How would you give adoption a chance?

Obviously. The point is that the same logic can be used to justify infanticide.

What is the state's interest in protecting the right to life of retarded children, or the chronically homeless?

Why wouldn't they be, since it's not murder, according to you?

It's not only according to Hezekiah Jones.
Many governments also make a clear legal distinction between murder and abortion.

I didn't read Hezekiah's post as saying abortion is not murder because it's legal, but rather as saying abortion is legal because it's not murder.
