Too bad there isn't a science section as well. There is a reading comprehension section though. Funny you should do well on SAT reading comprehension but fail miserably on this thread.

This could have been a good thread. Perhaps if Dan returns he can look at the bottom of every post and press the Profile button to gain additional information on each of the posters. It may not explain the call names, but it should give real names, etc. This should facilitate further discussion, and leave the spastic comments out of it.

Aw shit, I missed all the fun!

Hey, would it have been arogunt (sic) if I'd asked him one of my 'stumper' questions? (I guess not, because I'd be genuinely interested in hearing of any answer other than evolution for them! )

Oh Danny boy, Ae-Aye, Ae-Aye-Gee's calling

Daniel posted:

But PLEASE USE A SPELL CHECKER !!!!

Pot, kettle, black. You had two words ("beins" and "exhauted") misspelled in the OP. I'll grant that they're typos, but a decent spellchecker would have caught both of them.

Each summer, the Texas Ruby-throated Hummingbird beins to gorge its little body, in preparation for its arduous fall migration to its South American wintering nests.

There's no "Texas Ruby-throated Hummingbird." It's simply the Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris). And its winter range is southern Florida, Louisiana, Texas and Central America south to Panama, not South America. The Ruby-throated Hummingbird breeds and builds nests in its summer range, not its winter range.

So in addition to a spell checker, a good birding book might be of some use to you...

Speaking of profiles, the boy is "retired and financially well-off". Rare for retired people to brag upon their SAT scores. Must've retired before he even started.

You think bee's are neat. Check out fig wasps.

This thread had potential. Had Master Erikson not lost his temper but continued to ask questions, the symbiont issue alone could've been really cool.

Thumbs down

I think this thread was all too typical.

Creationist enters forum armed with a bunch of "stumpers"
Creationist soon finds out he's over his head
Creationist fails to meet any challenges while complaining about personal attacks
Creationist then declares he's leaving but not without some parting shots of his own
And don't you just love people who brag about their grades or IQ or SAT's?

The fig/fig wasp symbiotic relationship is indeed impressive. But since I learned about it, the taste of fig preserves, which I loved, has lost a bit of its appeal.

Along with their wealth and future plans to "write a book".
