Yes, but Russell was an atheist and speaks as an impoverished believer and therefore has emotion mixed up with faith. In other words, he rejected the fuzzy feeling church.
Yeah...uh...thanks for setting me straight, Amos.

That was no insult but just a comment. There is nothing wrong with what Russell said and he is right about rejecting the faith he once knew.

Default Hi, JENNIFER:

I regret your having-misconstrued my general message at this thread; and my use of "innocent" which I meant to mean "blameless', not "STUPID"!
I had no intention whatever to disparage you nor your presence here at the EyeEye site.
The Only True Catholic & I have had numerous run-ins hereto-fore; such that I have tried to make clear to him that I will not waste time, effort & thread-space to articulate further w/ him.
I do *strongly* urge you, Jen, that if you are interested to know the facts of what "Roman Catholicism" asserts as its beliefs (This implies NO JUDGMENT that those assertions are "true"!), you probably ought not to rely on information found at the EyeEye site; but rather , go to the horse's mouth. Amos's idiosyncratic assertions about all-this are NOT trustworthy. Cordially, Abe

But Abe, Jennifer is not interested in becoming a Catholic or she would not be here. She wants to here some evidence from the school of hard knocks.

Okay, but my point is, it is REALLY not that important to me. I'm looking for Trivial Pursuit answers here, not The Gospel Truth. As I have already asserted, the answers I get here at II are good enough for my purposes, especially since I have no purposes, I'm just curious.

Amos, I humbly request that you stop trying to guess why I'm here or what I want. You are 0 for 2 on reading my mind correctly, and I prefer to speak for myself, thanks. You are correct that I'm not interested in becoming a Catholic, but that's cuz I told you.
