You need to work on your understanding just a bit...

These chromosome and mitochondrial DNA analyses are indicating the most recent common ancestor, not our ultimate ancestor. IOW, a woman who lived approximately 150,000 years ago is the first woman shared by the family trees of everyone now living. This has nothing to do with the age of the human species, as this ancestress may or may not have been technically H. sapiens, and if she was, she need not have been the first H. sapiens female. Verstehen Sie?

BTW, I concur. These links were written by either a complete moron, or a liar.

Talking

It will be fun to imagine Adam and Eve as apes, at least better than believing in the bible's fairy tale story.

Sure. The date is simply the mitochondrial / African Eve date. Strictly speaking, totally modern sapiens do not emerge till around 40,000yrs BP. There's no hard and fast dividing line to draw though, because evolution is about a continuum of generations.

A few more Oolon:

"We" as in city-buildng H. Sapiens: about 5,500 years

"We" as in skeptics: around 2400 years

"We" as in modern (post-Hume) non-theists: about 200 years

And just for kicks and giggles:

"We" as in solopsists (contradiction?): 1 week, 3 days, 17 hours, 53 minutes, and 27 seconds since the Evil Genius created us with false memories of a past and a world around us.

Thumbs up

Thanks to all who responded sensibly to my question.
And to those people who answered stupidly, why are you even here!

Ax,

Nobody answered stupidly. And everyone is invited here, no reasons needed.

Well, fascinating as this brand new information is, I think it's better off in Misc. Religion Discussions.
