I think he was posting, and not moderating.

On the other hand, what can we expect from a cannibal?

There have been reports of nuns being raped by priests and forced to have abortions.

why of course - after all, they're human beings and as fallible as anyone else - being 'men of God' means nothing and has no bearing - because there's no such thing IN FACT as being a 'man of God'.

No, no. This is General Religious Discussions. Prudery is the next door on the right.

How is it that there are so many happy, joyous, and fufilled nuns in the world? These women have given up freedom, possessions, children, and marraige, and yet, they are joyful. Many have no desire to be preists and are satisfied with their role in the Church.

Does this speak to any athiests in support of the existence of God? If not, to what do you attribute their happiness?

On a side-note, I've been away for a awhile -- it's good to be back!

I work with nuns (watch the lil kids afterschool in catholic elementary school part time job)...and most of them are very happy, very nice people. oh, and brainwashed.

Does this support the existance of God? No more than studies that show buddhists are on average happier than others

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3047291.stm

show that buddhism is the right religion.

The nuns are content because they have brainwashed themselves to be. They have a get into heaven free card, and don't even have to bother with purgatory. Since they have brainwashed themselves so much, they don't even care about what happens on earth anymore, since they have eternal bliss to look forward to.

You know - if nuns had the freedom to talk like that, they'd be happy.

Not all nuns can cut the cloth to the right length.
Not all not(nuns) can respect the somber meekness of nuns.

Amen, Sister.

A cat with one paw clapeth not.
When a one-pawed(not) cat clapeth, the echo resonates.
