But only because Voltaire knew that the philosophic mind wrote the myth to start with. Hence, the consolation of superstition lies in the understanding of the myth and not the rejection of it.

The thrill of Theism is found in exploring the mind of God. For this two things are required, first the mind of God and second the key to understanding the mind of God. It is kind of like science but instead of looking for the physical evidence extracted from omniscience, Theism lets revelation provide the knowledge (this kind of makes science the same as the ambition of "ancient ark" searchers).
