I wonder if, now, months after all this happened, there is no more drunkeness or child abuse there. Something tells me it won't have changed a damned thing. Anybody want to volunteer a reason?

Didn't He already do that with 9-11? Oh wait, that's Allah.. seems like Jesus was taking a nap that day.. I thought His sleeping day was Sunday, silly me.

If Satan does turn up in Inglis, would he be arrested? Will the police or clergyman arrest him? Will Satan claim claim diplomatic immunity being the sovereign of another state?

Even theologically, this doesnot make sense. How can you keep out a supernatural entity merely by a legal notice?

Well, having driven over to Florida a few times and seeing some of those tiny little towns full of proverbial yokels this does not suprise me in the least. There's not a real brain trust in any of those towns.

Several days ago I saw the mayor of Inglis on the news. The look in her eyes was the same look a sheep or cow has. Just sort of a vacant stare. And in her droning voice she described why she thought that a ban on Satan was appropriate... get this... It seems that several families in the town were a feudin' and a fightin'. Now, I'm not the type to throw around stereotypes but isn't it a bit cliché to for Deep Southern families to be involved in a feud?

I personally think the mayor of Inglis needs to put the crack pipe away.

Question

If Satan is banned from Inglis, then is it Jesus who incites people to do awful things to each other?

The mayor says he doesn't believe he has violated anybody's civil rights. If a Jewish group or a Muslim group sought a proclamation, they would likewise get it.
Hmmmm..... what about satanists? they are protected under the bill of rights. what if a satanist wanted to ban Jebus The Evil Deceiver?

methinks somebody should seek a proclamation to ban theisism from town. that'd be quite a laugh!

This story just won't go away... I see updates on it about once a week. This one was carried on Associated Press and was just published today. It has a few funny details...

Quote:
The town hall now frequently receives phone calls from pranksters claiming to be Satan. Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" sent a correspondent who put a person in a red devil's costume and had residents chase him out of town for the camera.
Anyone catch that episode?

YEah, I did it was really funny, but they didn't show Steve getting chased out of town.

I like this (from above article):
Quote:
"American was founded by Christians. Period."
The US was founded by all men too. Does that mean men, by law, are allowed to have special privlidges over women? Or that our government is allowed to say that everyone should be male?

another thing that annoyed me in above article (this one coming from someone that was against the proclaimation):

Quote:
"If you believe there is a God. You have to believe there is a Devil, and the Devil's greatest trick is convincing us he doesn't exist."
Umm.... No you don't. I don't see why a belief in God has to entail a belief in the Devil.

Thumbs up

I support this mayor's decision, we all should. While she's at it she should ban the boogie man, trolls, and telemarketers. Those telemarketers, sheer evil.
