This amendment is never going to be passed. Even if all the people-pleasing Congressmen will shout "Under God" at the drop of a pin, they aren't going to pass an amendment about such a petty thing.

If they do manage this, I'm going to New Zealand ASAP. (Canada is too cold.)

Our economy is in the toilet, millions are uninsured, our unelected "president" is illiterate, we're on the brink of war, and these idiots are proposing a Constitutional amendment to honor their imaginary sky-daddy?

Sometimes I just hate this f-----g country.

I agree--Sometimes I get scared about being a U.S. citizen. I have recently been looking into Canadian citizenship. I'm waiting for a response to a letter I just sent to the Canadian Consul General in Buffalo. We'll see.

Let's not get carried away. In most of the countries in the world, including some you are thinking of emigrating to, casual invocations of the divine are so common no one thinks of protesting, and none of them have the same separation of church and state that we have in this country.

....and they haven't deployed black vans with white crosses to have us picked up yet. And in the US we are allowed to participate in a BB like this and pretty much criticize, organize and generally blab blasphemy as long as we want! The freethought "movement" in this country has been pretty darned complacent for the bulk of the last 100 years + right? For those that want to be active in seeing it grow, there are gobs and gobs and gobs of ways and room to improve it. But it ain't gonna do it itself. And that goes for me, too!
