Bokonon were you Erasmus on the BB? If so Don evidently would like to get in contact with you to see whether you have more questions - see here.

Now I post on Worldbeliefs board. Except for a couple mindless fundys it's a good board. There aren't very many people posting, though.

Heh, heh I'm constantly trying to persuade more people to join WB - we need some more Christians really though. Glad to have found your username on here though.

If anybody does use Christianbbs I'm there incognito, when I bother to go...that is to say I'm there under the name "Lucilius Witz", attempting to be a raving mad fundy as a joke. Well, because I was bored when I joined, anyway. But I'm finding it hard to be that nasty...

I have been a regular for over a year at a spirituality board on jamaicans.com spirituality forum

I like it because it has an interesting variety of beliefs, Rasta, Christian, Jewish, Muslim (although most of the Muslims were chased off by some over zealous US patriots after 911)and a few atheists, and me (a-whatcha-mi-call-it ). The debates aren't always of the highest intellectual caliber. In the sense not all of us know much about what we are talking about. But there's allot of passion and a surprising amount of tolerance on the part of a few very narrow minded Christians (now how's that for a contradictory statement) I ended up there because of my love for Jamaica, and ended up here, as a result of needing to find a place where I could take a break from arguing with Christians.

Arguing with Atheists is much more intimidating though.

I'm hopefully getting them to add a science and debate forum onto the religious forum, and I have been asked to moderate it if they open the forum. In which case you'll probably see allot more of me here as I try and learn stuff to back up my arguments.

Mostly the same old science verses creationism arguments there, but I was new to allot of the ploys and arguments from Christians so the spiritually forum has suited me just right.

I've started allot of topics based on topics I've read here. I also have borrowed so of the knowledge and arguments some of the brilliant people here have proposed . Sorry for plagiarizing.

unfortunately they don't allow links to other BB there because there have been times when I really wanted to refer people to arguments that are going on here.

Yeah, that would be nice. It seems like a couple new people have joined (or rejoined) since I started up, but there still aren't many. We do need more Christians, but only if they're more rational than Day. I don't think I could handle more than one or two people like him. He's the first person I've debated online who can effectively irritate me.

Ahh, so that's who you are. That place seriously bothered me. Some people were fairly decent, but many of them were extremely closeminded. There were a couple fairly bright posters, but one of them kept leaving the discussion when I put him on the defensive. The other was very reasonable, but I simply can't continue posting on a board like that for one person.

P.S. Everybody go post at World Beliefs!

I just wish the people who own the site would actually come back. They took a bit of notice last time, when I posted their address & name on the site, but have disappeared again.
I try to avoid day, and also Mel. In fact I tend to shy away from most of them. Plus Fiach doesn't like me anymore. We're definitely too small - but how do we go about getting new members?

The moderators there are a bit heavy-handed. Well, more than a bit, actually. I've noticed that, Christian moderators have a tendency to be rather more unfair than non-Christian ones. Wonder why?
Who were you on there then? You weren't Truthseeker, were you?

Bugger, blown my cover. Someone actually visited my dodgy website, read my little complete misinterpretation of Timothy (I said it said infertile women were damned) and objected. So I've not been posting more often because I'm not sure I can keep it up in debate. The fundiness, that is. This probably has to do with not actually having been a real-life fundy even in faith. Oh well...I shall deny everything if someone pops up on ChristianBBS saying I'm not really a Christian.

Yeah, that'd be nice. Some mods would actually be a good idea for those forums. I don't mind unruliness and offensiveness (are those words?), but I think Avy crosses the line sometimes. Also, you can do mod stuff like transfer threads to the right forums. You also can't add new forums as appropriate either.

Fiach is alright, but we haven't really talked much. He tends to crosspost somewhat, and can be illogical occasionally. I haven't figured him out yet.

I think we can get new members by shamelessly promoting the site. Maybe we can put "www.worldbeliefs.com" after our signature or something. People don't go to the site because there aren't enough people there, and there aren't enough people there because people don't go to the site. GRR...

Yeah, that they are. I haven't had much of a problem, but I know people who have. They're far too conservative for my tastes, but to each his own I guess. Perhaps the Christians moderators are insecure in their own faiths, so they try to hide from reality the best they can. Deep down they know that there is no god, but they are afraid to admit it.

I was on there from mid January to late April. I posted as Firehawk, but I do remember truthseeker. I left the board about the time the troll(s) came to the board.

Ahh, that makes sense. I haven't pretended to be a Christian in a debate online, but I do get the joys of pretending to be one in real life. It would be really difficult to keep it up without believing it. I try to stay away from religious discussions with people around my town for those reasons. I'm not a good liar, so everytime I talk about God I'm afraid someone would blow my cover.
