Not to stick up for apologists, but in the religious context the term means "to defend," not "to apologize" in the usual sense. But you're joking, right?

Actually, apologetics, while I certainly don't agree with many of their arguments, are to be expected. When you think about it, the burden of proof lies with the theists, not us. We're not trying to assert anything, unless your an extreme militant atheist. So I suppose we should see a few thousand more clones of "Evidence that Demands a Verdict".

But if my understanding of "apology" requires more "defense," look it up in <a href="http://www.m-w.com/" target="_blank">Merriam-Webster's online dictionary</a>. There "apology" is given a primary definition of a "formal justification: Defense."

Yes, that was funny.

It took me a while to understand the true meaning of the term. Now that I know, I try my best to stand up for the veracity behind my faith.
