I have since disassociated from PETA. Anyway, sorry it's so long, I know this isn't an animal rights board, but another frequent thing which made me a target was the rumor that I was a satanist (I'm not) because I dressed "funny" and advocated separation of church and state.. I think the only reason they knew about that was because the administration was appalled that I wanted them to stop putting "God bless you", "God be with you" and the like in the newsletters they'd send.
Stupid high school.

No vandalism, but, after getting my local HS Board to end School-sponsored Baccalaureate Services on school grounds, I was the subject of inaccurate and abusive comment in a HS Newspaper editorial.

I called the Newspaper faculty advisor and got to speak to the student who wrote the editorial. I was able to reason with her and show her the errors in her editorial. The Advisor later thanked me for teaching her not to write such editorials without contacting the subject person and knowing all the facts. This advice had been earlier ignored by the student.

My sons were in the school system ay this time, but they reported no problems. Being male and well over 6 feet tall may have had something to do with this lack of harassment.
