Then the question remains, did he mean everyday life everywhere, everywhen for absolutely everybody? Or did he mean that a practitioner should not restrict their practice to the shrine and cushion?

Don't I look silly? Well no Herr Doktor, not particularly! However, if you wish to think I look silly, go for it and enjoy the thought if it turns you on!

The only thing you could have possibly known that I know from what I posted, is that if Zen is everyday life for everyone, including non-Zen, non-Buddhist people then it extends to the most hideous of circumstances and the most deluded and negative of people.

You may as well become indignant because I mention that breathable air can be found everywhere on this planet above the surface of the Earth except where covered by water.

So why the sanctimonious and bullying remark?

Who's the bully here?

My attitude is one of openness, diligence and humour. I am not afraid of the uncomfortable consequences of a belief or premise and I refuse to hide behind a facade of political correctness. I say what I think, not what others tell me to think. I believe what I believe, not what others tell me that I should please believe because it'll make them more comfortable if I comply.

My attitude is that I have suffered bullies enough in this incarnation and they do make me angry. They don't make me stupid or psychotic, but they do most definitely make me angry.

What does the amount of anger have to do with who's the bully? And in answer to your question about that, I feel very strongly that you were.

What else could I possibly feel? Not only your original response but your flippant dismissal of a lucid explanation as a sorry attempt at rationalization followed by a rehash of the original, put-down.

Of course I think you were getting some bullying in! You absolutely were.

As you pointed out the path is one of equanimity, harmony and peace....

Well of course I disagree with you that I am spiritually retarded and pig-ignorant!

Seeing as you're obviously not going to concede error on your part in making that particular judgment we will most assuredly continue to disagree on that particular point.

The only thing I can agree with you on is the desirability of harmony, equanimity and peace.

I'll ask that everyone chill for a moment before responding to this thread.

Ascribing nefarious motives for an argument is poor form, especially after a reasonable explaination has been offered.

Asking about a belief is more condusive to good discussion than assuming one. No harm, no foul, but I'd appreciate it if we could keep this principle in mind in this forum.

Thanks guys, carry on.
