In my opinion, you get "REALLY" annoyed far too easily. If so, and viewed through the lens of your "best argument" thread, an option would be to distance yourself from forums such as this until you better address these sensibilities.

Shucks, I've been trying to work on NOT being condescending - I guess I've got it backwards.

You should try and write at a level appropriate to the audience. But you shouldn't use a simple term if it isn't as accurate as a more specialized word.
