Cheney's moved around the west. He was CEO of Halliburton after the first part of his political career was over (which includes his run as a senator). He was a Texas citizen until Bush tagged him for veep. He changed his voter registration back to Wyoming just days short of their deadline. He wouldn't have been nominatable / electable otherwise.

Off the top of my head, the states most affected are: North Carolina, South Caroline, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas

As far as I'm concerned, it's all the Bible Belt now. Sure I live in Georgia but when I visit my relatives in New Jersey and especially in Indiana, I really don't see that much difference.

I'm afraid I agree with you.

Maybe many of the larger cities are less fundamental but in just about all areas it is politically and/or socially unacceptable to be critical of religion or even to support CSS.

As an example, just about every congressperson is obligated to support any call for govt. support of religion (with monetary support perhaps being an exception).

Only in "safe liberal districts" can a Rep. consider voting against this type of resolution in Congress. And I don't know the number of such districts, but they have to be in a distinct minority.

How could it not be?

It's the Deep South and has a horrible educational system. Even here in southern Mississippi, which is more progressive (especially the coast), there are churches on every corner and they advertise on TV. Stores close on Sunday and make it a point to announce that it's out of respect for the Sabbath.

When giving advice in the 'Secular Lifestlyle and Support' forum we need to know which are the liberal parts of the United States and which are the intolerant parts of the United States.
A mqp would be helpful.
Doesn't this pretty much coincide with Tornado Alley?

Yes, I can see by the map(above) that it does indeed coincide with Tornado Alley! I wonder why?

Exclamation

Thanks for all your answers. I'm sorry about all the tornadoes you're getting.
And I'm sorry about all the other problems you've got.
I don't think I'll be emigrating to the USA.

Seriously, what can we do to make the USA more like Britain?
