Mad Kally

It's quiet in here because you've made everyone Panic!

How did I do that? Someone told them I was possessed or something?

I have been telling them not to come to any conclusion from the beginning and leave it to the Medical personels to handle it. Read from the top, girl.

So far, I don't remember anyone died from this sickness ... someone fill me in this part because I'm not very sure. But one thing for sure, if anyone start dying of this sickness, it will be Asians first before it spread anywhere else, so that's something.

As for the silent of this place ... not sure, like everyone suddenly become busy to reply all the sudden, or like they are waiting for something.

Seraphim,
I forgot about our language barrier. MY post was a JOKE! You did NOT make anyone panic. In fact you did the opposite.

Please do remember that I've a lousy sense of humor, which is why I resort to sarcasm ... I'll most of the time take things seriously when they said something ...

Anyway, You got any new news flash about this sickness? Can't say I know much rather than what I already mentioned.

Thanks for the reply. This is what I read and my sister is visiting friends and not involved with medical activities. I think the biggest potential risk is on the plane where the air supply is limited.

OK, new Info. The sickness is called SAR and it is some kind of respiratory-related sickness. Symptoms are exactly like a flu.

SAR was first reported in Guangdong, China and it brought down over 300 people and 5 of them died. So far, no death is reported outside China yet.

I did read about a website in the newspaper yesterday, but I was in a hurry this morning so I forgot to note the address properly.

We have a case in Los Angeles. The man is in isolation and responding well to antibiotics.

P.S. That must have been a BS report I heard here. Antibiotics don't do anything for a virus unless there's a secondary bacterial infection.

Not yet, but it was suspected to be originated from Guangzhou, the southern province of China, before spreading to Hong Kong, then Tawian, Southeast Asia and then to Europe and Canada.

So far, the authority claimed that things are under control but as you know, we can't really believe them unless the true source is confirmed. Maybe you should ask Vork if he is alright for he is staying in Tawian currently.

And here is the latest news:

SAR don't seems to spread by any means than direct contact with the sick person, so quarantine should be enough to contain it. As long as you stay away from a sick person (with symptoms similar to flu), then you're safe.

WHO (World Health Organization) were the first to issue the warning about SAR which means that they should be monitoring the problems as well. Not much information online, so stay calm.

Don't worry, I'm not in panic. But I do hate having a flu, anyway, the virus is being identified as the mutant of a former flu virus belong to the p....(I forgot the name) family.
