Cool

It has nothing to do with magnetism.... and I never said it did. But then gravity isn't a magnetic force either.

It is all incredibly dumb, and a relic from our ancient past, based on a wrong and incomplete understanding of fysics. In the west, we called it alchemy and witchcraft, and have abandoned it long time ago. Unfortunately with the levels of education going down continuously it revives. It is an unbelievable joke actually, and together with traditional Chines medicin constitutes a genuine danger ro further development. Do we really want to go back to the dark ages??
It is such a load of nonsense, that only persons with a romantic deficiency can believe in it.
Magnetic fileds, mixed with gravity, force field, the position of the stars. Sad, really sad. But not much worse than believing in god though

Again.... the part of feng shui that works is nothing more than good design. An example would be arranging a building in such a way that each room serves a particular function, thus keeping separate parts of your life separate.

It's quite good for simplifying your life among other things. But there's nothing magical about it.

feng shui is great at aesthetics, awful at everything else. If you want a discussion of magnetism and feng shui, the section on magnetism in Needham's Science and Civilization in China, Vol 4:1, has everything you could ever want to know.

Exactly - for example, I don't believe that painting your bedroom walls peach will bring you luck in love. However, I DO believe that if you do not bring your work into your bedroom (i.e. you don't daytrade while lying naked in bed) then you'll create a much different atmosphere in that room - instead of going to bed worrying about your portfolio, you'll go to bed thinking about the hot randy sex you'll have in the morning!

Feng shui: gazoontite!

(I couldn't resist)

If I could be serious for a minute: I would side with Corwin. There's a lot to be said for certain eastern practices.

Lady Shea, I urge you to give meditation another try. You sound very vocal, dare I say an assertative woman? (I dare!)

Though it's Indian in flavor, here's one especially for you:

Ramana Maharshi reached "enlightenment" through self-inquiry. This Indian teacher asked the most fundamental question "Who am I?"

Here is a self-inquiry technique based on Ramana Maharshi's method to make his idea even more powerfull.

Speak out loud the following words with total intensity before and/or during formal sitting meditation sessions. By the term "total intensity" I mean the same level of intensity you would feel if your house was on fire. Be very emotional and very vocal and plead with the universe any of the following questions:

What is this pale blue dot?...What is this pale blue dot?...What is this pale blue dot? - Repeat this question up to a dozen times if the spirit so moves you.

Or try:

I am not a storehouse of memories...

My favorite:

I am the space...I am the space...I have always been the space.

Or with atheistic flavor:

There is no God...there is no God...there is no God!

I advise sitting in the lotus position, the room totally dark, with a single candle before you.

Good Luck!

Beep! Beep!

I hear some girls use Ahuuuuum position instead of fertility drugs and it is suppose to work.

Good luck? Well maybe, I guess.

Amos dear boy, no sexual innuendoes here! Man, I'll try and send you some positive vibes when next I meditate. I'll have flowers growing in your dirty mind by the end of the month!
