I believe it would be more accurate to note that the "under God" prase was included in a propaganda conditioning effort to counter the "Godless/Atheistic" Communists.

I agree. I always thought pledging alligiance to a piece of cloth, or for that part swearing fealty to a circle of metal, are rather silly things to do in the first place.

I say the 1892 original version when I say the pledge(granted, it includes a fascist salute, and is a form of protesting our governments policy)
