Maid4God (License Plate and truth?)
I was driving into work this morning when I noticed a license plate that read Maid 4 God. I had to laugh, and I started thinking about the absurdities behind that which we have all heard before.
We are made by god and 4 god, to serve under him, with the ultimate goal of reaching heaven. At least according to some theists. If this is true, than we aren't we considered slaves? I'm sure people are going to state that I am going way too far in making such a connection, but if really think about it, what's the difference? Slaves - Subservient to whites Us - Subservient to God Slaves - Work specifically to please us Us - Work specifically to please God Slaves - Better listen to whites (or else) Us - Better listen to God (or else) Now, I didn't start this thread to compare god to slave owners, but we questioned the humaneness (is that a word) and validity of the treatment we extended to slaves, and we abolished it. But we find it okay that god puts us on this earth for him, to live under his standards, and we better listen, or else. I find this very selfish, inhumane, blah blah blah. I compare it to (among other things), a father wanting a son and molding this son (against his sons wishes) to be something he is not. |

Hi Free12thinker,
You missed the possibility that it meant "virgin (maid) for God", or someone who is saving themself for the bonds of Holy Matrimony (TM). I guess "stud4god" might be a religious carpenter. cheers, Michael |

Well, we can still carry on the discussion behind the idea that we are here 4 god. |

Not God, surely, he's too high and mighty for that. Now here's my answer! Someone who is actually aspiring to be God's cleaning woman! Great, 'cause I'm sick of cleaning.... |
