Howard Dean just keeps getting better
Quote:
He won't get the support of fundamentalists because of the Civil Unions bill, but I didn't expect to ever hear that. Wow. From the clip they showed, the crowd went nuts. They are supposed to be showing the speech on CSPAN tommorrow. |

That is awesome.
I did have a problem with Dean this past week when he said that he would lay off the president once the bombs started falling in Iraq. I think that is the most appropriate time to critcize this president. It is time to dispell the notion that it is somehow wrong to criticize a president during a time of war because it may undermine our troops. Hogwash! As for Dean being left of Sharpton, I call bullshit. He is actually quite conservative on some issues. He is an NRA member and takes a moderate view on taxes. Yep, if they are going to try and dismiss him as some super-liberal, they've got another thing coming. By all indications he's fiscally conservative, and socially liberal, which appeals to a lot of independent voters.

I don't want to listen to fundamentalist preachers anymore!
By all indications he's fiscally conservative, and socially liberal, which appeals to a lot of independent voters. This rocks. I hope that the tone of the Dem candidates in general is forced in this direction. This is 2003 stuff, not 1979 or 1954 stuff. Bring it on. |

In this week's Nation. David Corn calls Dean a "unintentional liberal". He certainly is a welcome antidote to Senator Mr.-Faith-Based-Charity Lieberman.

Dean doesn't seem half bad to me. I wish he'd say what he thought about the stupid DCMA but I guess you can't have everything.

I'm very happy with what I see in Howard Dean. I cannot and will not vote for Lieberman. No more religiosity from the White House, pease!

http://deancalltoaction.blogspot.com is an official page of Howard Dean that will be evolving, for anyone is interested in supporting Dean right now. He seems to be very interested in using the internet to grow grassroots support of his campaign.

The thing that impresses me most about him, is that he comes from a scientific background being a doctor, and bases his judgements on facts and despises emotional arguements and dislikes idealogues. He also doens't seem to be afraid of taking on rightwingers and calling them on their BS, and doesn't come off as whiney or weak when he does it. I hate to sound like a shill for him, but the more I hear from him the more he impresses me. |
