The Flood story was a parable and the ark was to preserve life. Only but all ill conceived images of reality were drowned. Only this concept is what makes the bible Holy.

How does an omnipotent and omniscient god create "ill concieved images"????

Sure looks as if he did. If you are a male, look in the mirror the next time you take off your shirt. The Great Designer overlooked the fact that those nipples aren't of any use. He put them in anyway, just as if he was designing a female. Well...perhaps we shouldn't be too harsh. I suppose if a male ever had a baby, he'd need to nurse it.

But then, there are all those comets and asteroids hurtling around out there and banging into things. The Great Designer sure leaves a messy workplace when he's done.

Ax, and all- It's true that Amos never attempts to witness to us. He does regularly witless to us, though. But his posts are fun to try to decypher, so we leave them.

IMO *none* of the things that Christians, or indeed any monotheistic religion, urge us to believe on faith, make a single lick more sense than does Amos. Heaven, Hell, God, Devil, all are tales told by idiots, signifying nothing. (I will confess that they entertain, even if they don't signify!)

Amos, you wouldn't happen to be Polemos on the GameFAQs board, would you? (This is an honest question actually...)

Have you ever succeeded in decyphering one of his posts?

He doesn't! He lets us do the dirty work and take from us what right and wrong to become the omniscience for the next generation. That's the whole point behind the ark message.

Now it is true that even if we do not built an ark God will still take his share of omniscience from our science and so it does not really matter to God whether we built an ark or not. The only reason we are invited to be ark builders is to enjoy old age in good health in the full vision of our own righteousness (we become the continuity of God).

Edited to add that this is actually in the bible "yes they shall find rest from their labors for their good works accompany them" (Rev.14:13b).

Sounds like some kind of "new age mysticism meets the bible" mumbo jumbo to me. But then again, I could be wrong. Because I have No Idea what you are talking about.

Jobar, your point is even more appreciated now!
