Let me guess. You got a recording which said, "Thank you for calling Senator Finestein's office to tell us what a wonderful job we're doing. We are pleased to serve you and take care of your needs." Then a message telling you to write a letter if you have any further comments.

Hmmm. Won't be long before it's reasonable to suggest we don't really have a Congress at all, just a giant answering switchboard and form-letter generating system! (Of course, how better to describe any parliamentary body...)

Sadly, living where I do, I know this isn't the case. Crossing the street every day, I see evidence that we have a large government of blind, deaf, lunatic and otherwise unqualified drivers.

Of course, there is a benefit to declaring the US a faccist nation. It will loose what international power it has left, and even be declared as a civil rights violator. Russia and China are our friends for now, but lets see what happens when the US declares Atheists have no civil rights.

Actually I did speak to a staffer - it was probably the stress of trying to not to unload on an office worker that had me so wound up.

cheers,
Michael

I just got my reply from Nelson yesterday. Mine sounded almost as if he really read my letter. He said he disagreed with me and cited the Declaration of Independence as proof that we live in a religious country.

I wrote back to him to let him know that the Declaration of Independence is not the Constitution.
