Your simplistic idea that all morality is Judeo-Christian does not jive with the facts.
I'm saying the Christian schools are free of drugs, poor study habits and test scores, violence, gangs, grafitti, bullies, oral sex, and kids who defy authority, because when the kids don't follow the rules, they get their butts suspended or kicked out. If the public schools would stop testing new humanist theories and do the same, they would do almost as well.

What "facts" do you have to the contrary? I have seen at least two documentary movies about "secular" principals who declared war on PC thinking and got almost the same results Christian schools do. And plenty of hugs from the kids too.

And I do not think there is a better example of the power of love and discipline working together than we see in Christ. Every mature Christian has a testimony of God's unfailing love, and unfailing discipline, and is thankful for both.

Can you show me a Christian society that was "the highest and purest example"?
I'm talking about individuals, although the Christians as a group set a pretty good example before Constantine made Christianity fashionable and politic.

I'd bet a dollar this has been discussed on another forum, but if not, I'll do it if you open one. I can just cut and paste from my "Authentic Disciples" thread for awhile.

Another astounding and unprovable assertion.

Radorth,
Christian opinonmakers tell me that the removal of prayer from public schools was a milestone---some might say millstone--- in the "fall of societal morality." There is enough money passing through the hands of Christians that there could've been quality tuition-free Christian education available in every community. Public school families would've glady sent their children for your "believe-it-or-ELSE" bogeymanism.

But NOOO! Preachers are too involved in ministry-building and unseemly competiton for each others' flocks to inspire such cooperation.

Christian grooms have shown themselves to be just as unreliable as secular liars. Since the "fall of school prayer" guess which group of professionals has had the greatest increase in divorce rate---Christian Clergy.

ROFLMAO... you really ARE an ignorant twat aren't you... You can go ask a young lady named Tricia whether these things are actually absent, or just covered up. Next thing we know you'll be trying to say that there weren't any adult-child sexual relationships going on in Catholic churches before the media expose on them.

And yes, Radorth. Christianity makes children more intelligent. You're obviously proof that it certainly doesn't make adults any smarter.

Why is defying authority automatically a bad thing, btw? It would have made things a lot better if, say, for example, the majority of Christian Germans in Germany in the years of, say, 1933 to 1945, had believed that defying authority could sometimes be a good thing. In fact it might have saved, oh, I don't know, at least 11 million innocent lives?

And btw, your attempt to pin everything you don't like on "humanist theories" is laughable and utterly dishonest.

As usual.

"Criminy."

Oh, and Radorth? Care to explain how it came to be that atheists are so under-represented in our prisons? Whether you take the strictest definition and end up with about 6% of Americans being atheists, or a broader definition and end up with 10-14%, less than 0.1% of prisoners are atheists.

"Criminy."

There used to be Blue Laws which forced stores to close on Sunday, and there are still laws prohibited alcohol sales on Sunday. There used to be state laws prohibiting blasphemy.

The big category of laws based on Christian morality are laws involving sexual conduct between consenting adults.
Ah, all right. Thank you for clearing that up, Toto. I know there are still laws here in Kentucky forbidding the sale of any kind of liquor on Sunday. (Luckily the laws for blasphemy aren't still in force, or I would be in trouble all the time for taking God's name in vain).

It puzzles me why Christians still want to regulate sexual conduct between consenting adults. But then, the whole emphasis on homosexuality has always puzzled me. It seems almost chance that it got emphasized, and not keeping the Sabbath didn't.

I assume it's because lots of atheists write "Christian" on the form where it says "religion." It is absurd to assume felons will say anything honest, and even more absurd to assume an atheist will admit it in a predominately Christian culture. I can make an argument that all felons are non-Christians or atheists. It depends on whether you insist, as I do, that a believer show some evidence of fruit and repentance. Very few felons do.

Nice try though.

Er, no. I make judgements based on evidence, and am well able to tell the difference, unlike you.

If you have any evidence to prove my assertions wrong, please present it. Otherwise continue with smoke and mirrors.

Question

Frankly I would much prefer that when you make an assertion that you provide evidence for your assertion. If anyone is required to prove what ever you say is false, why bother, I'll just assume straight up that it is false because you have chosen not to support it.
