Seebs, do you really believe that a bronze age sky god came to earth in the form of a man so that he could sacrifice himself to himself and save us all from his wrath?

Yeah, I could be wrong. Anyone could be wrong - but that doesn't mean we don't, in practice, act as though our best hypothesis is "true".
Again, it is ok to believe (or to not believe), but when can we classify something as truth?

Atheists- make sure you only post in the challenge. The community is only for Christians, and very friendly non-christians. The challenge is for atheist and believers. We had a few trolls visit faithforum so they had to install the mod system.

Haven't we done this thread all ready?

I don't believe it was a bronze age sky god; I believe that bronze-age people looked at Him through sky-god tinted glasses.

With 100% certainty? Never.

With pretty good certainty? All the damn time.

I generally act as though whatever I believe is "true"; that's what I interpret "belief" to mean. If sometimes I'm wrong, well, that's fine - at least I'm not sitting in a pool of piss denying the world. Yeah, yeah, fallacy of the excluded middle... but in practice, my working hypothesis is always formulated as a truth claim.

Interesting. I once read that one must be polarized to be able to argue from opposites and speak with 100% certainty all of the time. It was somewhere in a Port Royal logic course where "seniors" were identified.
